The Wright FamilyStephanie Wade   22/07/2008

Hi, I am looking for possible relatives in the Alsager area. My Grandmother, Millicent Lucy Anne Wright was born in Audley Road, Alsager in 1895, to George Alexander and Mary Sophia (Nee Bull) she was the youngest of 6 children and the only girl. Her father was a master baker, and had at least one shop, somewhere near the Station. Her five brothers were, Harold born in 1885, Edward(?Ernest) Born 1887, John H. born 1889, Frederick N born 1890, and Thomas B born 1892. My gran entered service in Talk Road, and was disowned by the family in 1917 when she gave birth to my Mum Betty Doreen who's father was William Calvert, who had been a Music Hall entertainer doing monologues, and was also a classical pianist. Nan never married him. (I think he was married) but they stayed together until his death in the forties. I think this was why the family 'disowned' her. That's how things were then. I am sure that with five brother's, there must be some descendants somewhere, and I would love to find some if not all, I have no ulterior motive, I just want to see if there are any cousins out there and learn a bit more about the family. I am 63 years old and am researching my family tree. Nan was always a bit cagey about her past, I suppose she was always ashamed, which is sad. I only found out about her marital status when I started my research. If you can help or are a descendant please contact me at sesherwoodwade@hotmail.com Thank you. Stephanie Wade.
