Bluebird Care is a community provider of care services into the homes of older people and physically disabled adults. The aim of the company is to help vulnerable people retain their independence in the home they love, providing a real alternative to residential care. Carers are fully trained and undergo enhanced disclosure checks with the Criminal Records Bureau before delivering care. Help with getting up, washing, dressing, getting into bed, pension collecting, domestic help and companionship are all part of what Bluebird offers, with visits as brief as 15 minutes to an hour or more. Sleep-in services and full live-in care can be arranged.

Paul Tarsey, who set up the original Bluebird Care office in Hampshire is often asked “Why the name “Bluebird”?
Paul’s family had close associations with the famous Bluebird CN7 land speed record car in the 1960s. The car, conceived and driven by the late Donald Campbell, was the first to achieve over 400 mph when in 1964 at Lake Eyre, Australia he set a new World Land Speed Record of 403.1mph after many setbacks and difficulties.
“Donald Campbell was a huge hero”, says Paul. “His bravery and never-give-in spirit were a huge example to me as a young child and I grew up very much in awe of the man. It seemed only right that we should name the service in honour of a man who had been such an influence”.
At a prestigious award event in Oxford on November 10th, the South Cheshire office was awarded the “Spirit of Bluebird Care Award”, marking their consistently excellent care standards, and for maintaining the “Bluebird” ethos.
