End of an Era - Alsager Built On

I visited the Alsager Campus of the former Crewe + Alsager College of Higher Education in October 2018 to find that it had finally bowed down to the bulldozer. The former car park and tennis courts beyond now house a small estate, and the remaining campus buildings have been flattened ready for development. In this process, many beautiful, mature trees have been chopped down. It's so sad. However, MMU have kept the football pitch and have added an astro turf pitch. It appears that they are building what could be changing facilities next to the pitches. They have named the new estate 'Scholars Place' in memory of the college. I guess that's something, at least.
