Carnival of the Animals

June 18th 2005

Carnival Gallery
The parade this year featured around 40 musicians from Lions Youth Brass leading the Carnival Queen, Susannah Davies riding in an open top vintage Rolls Royce.

First prize for an animal costume was won by Francesca Lindsay (left). Second prize went to two ducklings. Trophy for best float went to Cranberry Schools.

The main event was Bernie Bennett's high wire act and there was also a display by John Whitely of geese herding using a sheepdog.

The dog show by Alsager Animals in Need was again very popular. Live music was provided by The Nurons

The finale was the balloon race.

Also Mr K Lancaster of TBE Talke for printing of the display entry forms, Doveys Office Supplys for the printing of the Safari Maps. And to Fryers Newsagents, Alsager Shoe Repairs, The Council Information Centre, Colin Corbetts Butchers and Shady Grove Stores for selling the maps.

I am sure you will all agree that it has been a huge success and will become a annual feature in Alsagers Calendar.

If you have any comments then please email them to me, and start watching this page in the New Year for news of 2006 Safari.
