Clowes Avenue - Bob Clowes (22 Mar 01)

My father FRANK CLOWES was born on October 7, 1908 and lived on Talke Road.  I am trying to find out any information about the Clowes name in Alsager.  I have found Clowes Avenue thru the internet maps of the town.

His parents were Ernest Clowes and Bertha WARD Clowes.

His registration of birth reads:

Sub-district of Sandbach
County of Chester
District of Congleton
County of Chester

Any help or posting to any of your sites will be greatly appreciated.  Locating his schools and church might also be helpful.

Manor Farm : Marie-Therese Burns (1 Dec 00)

I would like to congratulate you on such an informative website.

I am trying to get some Information on Manor Farm Alsager, I am interested to know how recent the tenancy information is, the current owner today is a Mr. Peter Heler, A surname very similar to that of your report and I was wondering if you had any more info. In the write up where it states the manor is that referenced to the older black and white house or is that what is now known as Manor Farm.

He is very interested in the history of the farm and has got hold of some old maps of the farm, surprisingly the fields are still named the same way they were then.

I hope that you can help and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards
Marie-Therese Burns
