White Moss Quarry

Dec 93

This path starts about 50 yards down the main road from the coffee shop at the Radway Green Garden Centre and leads into White Moss Sand Quarry. An extra section crosses the fields and finishes at no. 60 Close Lane.
For a large scale map see Part 1 and Part 2.
Sunday is the best day for a walk because the path is crossed by heavy lorries during working hours.

The scene in the left hand picture has now disappeared as the workings have been extended.

Next to the main excavation is the sand processing equipment.

The quarry has a driveway to the main road next to the Garden Centre but this is not a right of way. The footpath starts 5 mins walk further down from the Garden Centre. From this point another path crosses the fields and finishes at Nursery Rd.

This photo was taken from this other footpath running alongside the motorway. On top of the bridge is Nursery Rd, the end point of the path. At the far end of the bridge is the driveway to Oakhanger Aquatics, where tropical fish can be seen.
